What is a hair topper?
A topper is like a hair extension, but for the top of your hair. It’s designed to clip onto the top section of your natural hair, giving it an instant boost of volume and length.
We have designed two different topper cap constructions to suit everyone’s different needs, a silk topper and a lace topper. Both options work well for most people, but some people prefer one over the other. We have different base sizes to cover different areas and our toppers are designed to blend in with your own natural hair.
Silk or lace topper?
Silk toppers
- They bring a whole new level of smoothness to the game, giving you that sleek finish on top.
- If your scalp is sensitive, it has a soft lining on the inside of the cap. The fine silk material creates the illusion of a natural scalp.
- The layers that make up the cap construction create the silk finish and are very durable over lace.
- Silk toppers have got your back when it comes to density — bringing the volume like no other!
- Silk toppers are constructed with a fine silk material on the top and stretch wefts at the back to mould over your head.
- Each hair is hand tied into this silk area and the hair can be parted anywhere on the top.
Lace toppers
- They’re the masters of illusion — creating a seamless blend.
- Lace toppers let your scalp breathe, keeping you cool and fabulous even in the hottest of moments.
- These “featherweights” are less bulky than a silk topper, and you’ll forget you’re wearing anything at all.
- If you have hairline concerns, lace toppers give the illusion of a hairline, so you don’t need to blend with your own hair. If you have no hair through the front, this will replace your hairline.
- Lace toppers are constructed with a fine mesh material on top called lace and stretchable wefts at the back.
- They are lightweight and breathable, making them perfect for those who want a lower density (less hair).
Our toppers are handmade using human hair and come in a range of colours and lengths (12”–24”). Our qualified Beverly May Hair professionals can cut, style and fit toppers for our Adelaide-based clients. Our interstate and international clients will be able to get their regular hairdresser to cut, style and fit their topper as required. And all toppers come with easy-to-follow care instructions for at home so you can protect your investment!
