My name is margariette and I am a wig repairer and I have been doing this sort of work for over 30 years. I’ve got Peter to thank for teaching me this art in repairing wigs and also thank you to Mr Seby for the block and the hair. I help many people to keep their favourite wigs and hair pieces going on for a much longer period of time, I’m able to repair a peice over night if needed. I’m based in Adelaide, which saves lots of clients the expense of having to send thier pieces away overseas to be repaired, sparing them the cost of postage plus US dollar exchange, and risk of it being lost through transit. With most people, they generally have only one hair piece, so the thought of having to be without your piece for to long, can be stressful, which fortunately, I’m able to reduce that by being able to give them the convienence of having their piece fixed within a very short period of time. Bev has helped me by sending her clients to me for their repairs. She has also given me the hair required to repair a clients piece, ensuring the perfect match, as often it can be hard to source the hair quickly. Often people don’t realise how much hair is required, as there needs to be the length to be able to hold and fold whilst doing the knot. Shorter pieces can be harder to work with as you can lose up to 3 to 4 inches, just to be able to hold the hair for working. Wig repairs is a craft work and a hobby I enjoy and take a great interest and pride in. The best reward is when I see the clients happy with their repaired wig.
