The Hair Piece lies completely flat to the scalp, making it very comfortable to wear and sleep in. There are no seams, bumps, clips, Velcro, hooks, braids, knots, wax, resin beads or metal tubes.
100% REMI CUTICLE HUMAN HAIR is used, which means the hair runs in the same direction root-to-end, with the cuticle layer intact, resulting in the most luxurious, tangle-free hair available
It is made from skin toned polyurethane, which blends in well with most skin tones, it does not appear too white, and can be easily tinted to match your skin tone
Yes it can. Clients are able to wear their Hair Piece for multiple consecutive attachments.
We recommend that you do NOT use hairspray on our hair pieces and wigs. Most hairsprays contain a lot of alcohol which is very drying and over time, will open the cuticle layer, increasing the chances of tangling.
Chlorine and salt water have been known to damage the hair used in Wigs and Hair pieces. Chlorinated pools, spas, saunas and ocean water can cause irreparable damage to the hair. You are advised not to expose your Hair Piece or Wig to chlorinated and/or salt waters and do so at your own risk.
Invisible Hair Pieces are undetectable to the eye. Even if someone were to run their fingers through their hair, it is unlikely that they would really feel or see the Piece
The Hair Piece can be grafted onto bare scalp to help customers experiencing conditions such as: Alopecia, Female Pattern Balding, Scarring, Radiation, Burns and Trichotillimania.
Invisible Hair Additions can be worn attached to your scalp for 5-12 weeks at a time. This varies for each individual case
The night before washing the hair, apply several drops of Jojoba oil to the bristles of a 100% Boar Bristle Paddle Brush, and brush through the hair from the mid lengths down, one small section at a time. Re-apply oil for each section. Dilute shampoo with water into a jug. Using a sponge soaked in the jug, press into the hair addition roots, then squeeze the shampoo through the ends. Lift the piece up to shampoo underneath. Never rub or ruffle the hair or tangling will result. Lean forward facing shower and rinse with lukewarm (not hot) water. Emulsify EKS Elasticity Conditioner into your hands first ensuring conditioner is dissolved, then add to jug of water and pour over your hair. Comb through the conditioner with a wide tooth comb, then rinse completely.
In the event of your Hair Addition slipping or lifting, contact your Beverly May Specialist. In emergencies you can successfully re-attach using a small amount of “Retouch Adhesive”, purchased from Beverly May Hair.
Genetics is the most common reason for hair loss. In fact, 98 percent of patients experience hair loss due to their genetic history. Research indicates that hair loss occurs for two main reasons: dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and decreased blood flow. Men and women both contain the hormone testosterone in their bodies. Obviously, women contain much smaller levels of this hormone. An enzyme known as Type II 5- alpha reductase is found in the hair follicles’ oil glands, converting testosterone to DHT. In genetically predisposed men and women, the level of DHT prevents healthy hair from surviving by shortening the growth cycle. As a result, a person’s hair follicles will shrink, becoming shorter, skinnier, and less pigmented. Over time, the continued growth of these miniaturized or shrunken hairs causes a person to become progressively bald. Unfortunately, it’s only after individuals have lost 50 percent of their hair that they notice their hair is thinning! The second cause of hair loss is a result of decreased blood flow to the thinning or bald areas on the scalp. Doppler Flow studies, which use sound waves to measure the flow of blood, reveal there is less blood circulation to balding and thinning areas as compared to the rest of the scalp. Low Level Laser Light Therapy is one form of treatment that can benefit patients affected in this regard.
Sometimes stress can play a role in diffuse loss. Stress-induced loss ordinarily regrows within a year of eliminating the cause. In the absence of any prolonged emotional or physical trauma that has noticeably affected your overall health, stress is not likely the cause. Crash dieting, medical conditions, certain medications, pregnancy, and other major life changes can initiate stress-shedding however. In some cases extreme emotional tension for prolonged periods of time can have an effect as well. Individuals with Alopecia Areata (patchy hair loss), Alopecia Universalis or Alopecia Totalis, can typically be struggling with an autoimmune condition. These could be considered stress triggers, as an overactive immune system is akin to a stress response, but the true condition is autoimmune, versus “stress”.
No, wearing a hat or helmet has absolutely no affect on the amount of hair an individual has. Similarly, how frequently you wash, brush, and comb your hair, in addition to the type of shampoo used are all factors that do not contribute to hair loss.
The average number of hairs a person loses each day is approximately 100 to 150 hairs. Although this may seem like a lot of hair, if the follicles are healthy and intact, the hair regrows. In adult men and women, the typical head of hair consists of about 150,000 hair follicles.
Hair is formed from keratin, a protein that also forms the nails and outer layer of skin. Each strand of hair is actually dead tissue secreted by hair follicles that exist below the scalp’s surface. This visible section is called the hair shaft. Hair remains on the head for 2 to 6 years, during which it is continually growing. This growing phase is known as the time of anagen. By contrast, there is also a resting phase known as telogen, which lasts for about three months. During telogen the hair stops growing, and afterwards generally falls out, creating hair loss.
– Hair falls out in large clumps when washing it. – Large snarls of hair appear in brush or comb. – Small bald patches appear on the scalp. – Scalp is red, oily, or itchy. – Noticeable hair thinning on front, sides, or top of head
Androgenic Alopecia The most common form of hair loss to affect women. Thought to be hormonally caused, it is most frequently seen in women undergoing menopause. It is characterized by overall thinning as well as a bald spot at the crown, or female pattern baldness. Telogen Effluvium This occurs when sudden s
Medical Causes – Pregnancy – Thyroid disorders – Pituitary problems – Anemia – Chemotherapy – Chronic illnesses – Scarlet fever – Eating disorders – Syphilis Psychological Causes – Emotional stress – Traumatic events – Anxiety Lifestyle Triggers – Iron deficiency – Lack vitamins B & C – Excessive amounts of vitamin A – Too little exercise – Lack of protein – Aggressive hair styling
The onset of hair loss is difficult to predict, as it can strike at such an early age as the late teens or early twenties. However, a lot of the time hair loss is one of the first signs of impending menopause. Many women start to see this symptom in their 30’s or 40’s, but postmenopause is when hair loss affects almost everyone, with approximately 2/3 of women experiencing some sort of thinning.
Are there any ways to hide hair loss? As hair thinning begins, there are a number of tactics at women’s fingertips that may help to hide the damage right from the outset of menopause. Thickening shampoos and tonics are on the market to increase the volume of the hair that remains. Many women dye their hair darker to give it the appearance of more heft. When hair loss grows more severe, hats or wigs can be helpful, safe, and inexpensive options.
Depending on the specific type of hair loss that a menopausal woman is experiencing, at times it can indeed be reversible. For instance, in the case of telogen effluvium, which is often caused by a stressful event, it may be only one cycle of hair growth that is affected, therefore the hair follicles will enter anogen normally and hair will be regenerated. In the case of androgenic alopecia on the other hand, there may not be a cure at this point. However, by treating the hormone imbalance that is at the heart of the disorder, it’s certainly possible to manage the symptom and slow down, if not prevent, significant hair loss.
Remy human hair is hair that is collected with root and tip end running in the same direction so that the cuticle runs in the same direction. This is a very tedious and time consuming process for the factories, which is why the cost is higher for remy human hair

Although you are able to blow dry your HD products, we recommend that you allow this fibre to air dry naturally for the best results. Since it is a synthetic fibre, it is porous and cannot absorb water. This means that the hair fibre of your wig will dry quickly (about an hour) if you do wish to use a blow dryer to speed things up, we recommend using a cool temperature setting and ONLY your wide tooth comb to style. Be sure to use your HD Smooth Detangling Spray!
Depending on the fibre, your wig or hair piece can take anywhere from 12 – 24 hours to dry completely. Synthetic and HD fibres do not absorb water and will dry much fast than human hair, yet the cap materials will hold water and take longer to dry. We recommend that you allow your synthetic and HD products to air dry naturally on a mannequin head. Use your blow dryer and heat styling tolls to dry your human hair products to maintain smooth and manageable hair.
